With the collaboration of multiple experts within Gruppo SCAI, one of the largest and most respected universities in the Middle East wanted to create a metaverse-based classroom to design and create customised 3D spaces and experiences. The aim was to provide students with immersive and personalised interactions with professors during distance learning, thus enhancing their learning experience.
The environment, seamlessly integrated into the Spatial.IO platform, boasts a plethora of functions tailored to meet the diverse needs of its users. From customised avatars and action/reaction options to the seamless integration of multimedia content, it is a dynamic and engaging opportunity for teachers and students alike. Furthermore, the inclusion of additional conference, meeting and examination rooms increases the versatility and functionality of the platform.
The architectural design features a large open area with a large terrace for learning stations. Adjacent to this central space, two walls delimit smaller sections suitable for ancillary activities, such as a coffee and relaxation area on one side, and a lecture hall and examination room on the other.
The integration with the platform included customised elements, including consistent furniture, the university logo, the skydome and the platform model for the lecture hall. In addition, the project included the provision of a comprehensive written tutorial for users and ongoing annual support to ensure optimal use of the environment.
One of the highlights is the ability to support up to 50 avatars per space, facilitating large-scale collaborations and interactions. With advanced tools enabling seamless moderation and management, users can ensure smooth and productive sessions.
The success of this project lies not only in its innovative features, but also in the added value it offers users. By seamlessly integrating multimedia content, facilitating customised interactions and offering comprehensive hosting and support services, it enriches the student experience, enabling users to connect and collaborate.
