SCAI Tecno’s software competence centre to migrate the infrastructure of ITALARCHIVI, a group with high compliance standards in dematerialisation and digitisation processes.
With 30 years of business under its belt and 5 billion documents in its custody, Italarchivi operates through 5 sites throughout Italy, where it has developed a widespread logistics platform with 5 buildings covering a total area of 34,000 square metres, an average stock of more than 2,330,000 document containers, incoming volumes of 198,674 containers/year, outgoing volumes of 86,500 containers/year and an average of about 102,600 containers. In 2019, Italarchivi launched the outsourced HUB³ digital multiservice platform for document digitisation, management, monitoring and governance; in 2022, a new Digital Transformation division was created to implement solutions and projects for the digital simplification and transformation of customer value processes.
With a strong focus on the banking (insurance, leasing) and healthcare sectors, ItalArchivi deals with sensitive documents both physically and digitally. Hence the need to migrate the infrastructure in a Lift and Shift perspective, in order to increase efficiency without making substantial changes: a strategic and administrative operation as well as a technical one, which required maximum security and agility, without onerous impacts on the change of architecture and without problems for Italarchivi’s end customers.
A challenging project, to be completed within six months.
Thanks to a thorough technical analysis conducted together with the client, and within a relationship of mutual trust and transparency, a gradual progression process was opted for instead of a drastic switch off.
Using its in-depth knowledge of the bureaucratic process as well, Gruppo SCAI offered expertise of various kinds – from a range of professional services related to connectivity management (SDWAN/SASE network optimisation) and system engineering, provisioning of Data Centre services and virtual machines, to a wide range of solutions related to SOC and security during migration.
The implemented solution will also allow the customer to optimise costs and increase security while focusing on its core business.
