Digitising Cards Using a Mobile App

Mobile payment innovation is the latest step in the mobile payment revolution. This project consisted of implementing a Maestro physical card digitisation system within the customer mobile app using Mastercard’s standardised process.

Users finally have the option to digitise their debit card via the mobile app without having to submit a request through traditional banking channels. This digitised card is effectively a “token” based on a physical card without bearing its ID number. All the parameters of the physical card are inherited from the digital version.

Instant transactions

Once the Maestro card digitisation process is completed by the user, a digital card is displayed in the smartphone application. The issuing process is instantaneous, and the card can be used immediately for payments at POS terminals.

Mobile payment innovation is available for both iOS and Android devices. The feature is also available within the Apple Wallet on iOS devices. The whole process has been certified by Apple according to their rigorous standards, giving the customer the option to be listed on the Apple website
