In a context where the technological upgrade of information systems represents a pivotal step for corporate competitiveness, Gruppo SCAI has been the protagonist of a strategic IT reform project for Mediobanca, in collaboration with Microsoft. The operation, named “Anagrafe Unica” (single registry), was configured as an ambitious modernisation plan aimed at divesting obsolescent IT infrastructures in favour of a cutting-edge, modular and scalable technological environment.
The immediate initiative focused on the realisation of a robust normalisation of datasets, based on the establishment of a centralised and optimised registry. The ultimate goal was to ensure systematic interoperability with other IT architectures, with an accentuated orientation towards compliance with stringent regulations in terms of privacy and data security, in line with the latest GDPR guidelines.
The pivot of the process saw the complete reconfiguration of the initial technological architectures, driven towards a highly synergic ecosystem with the bank’s previous platforms. The Gruppo SCAI team implemented Azure DevOps solutions and the Azure cloud infrastructure, the fulcrum for Continuous Integration and Deployment. It took care of the front-end development using the advanced capabilities of Angular, while for the back-end, it relied on the robustness of .Net Core and for data management on SQL Server, a guarantee in terms of efficiency and security.
In addition to the deployment of these leading-edge technologies, Gruppo SCAI set up a structured training package for Mediobanca’s staff. The aim of the programme was to forge in-house technical capabilities, hoping for a methodical and risk-free transition to the sophisticated technological framework, fostering full appropriation of the new operational potential. It was a professional growth path to ensure that each component of the bank was ready to navigate but also to master the “Anagrafe Unica” framework, ensuring that the learning curve would translate into an efficiency multiplier for the entire company.
Gruppo SCAI ’s vision gravitated around the objective of generating, through “Anagrafe Unica”, not only a revision of the data architecture but a cultural transformation. Data and processes have been merged to create a refined operational reality, shaping a propulsive environment for Mediobanca. With the new technological infrastructure, Mediobanca improves the quality of its services and the satisfaction of its customers and is able to embrace a future of cutting-edge digital IT.
