SCAI Group received today, for the second year in a row, the UNHCR Welcome Award, an acknowledgement given for being one of the 220 virtuous companies that have promoted pathways of labour inclusion dedicated to refugees in 2023.
Welcome is the project through which UNHCR Italy promotes the inclusion of refugees in the labour market, promoting the involvement of the private sector in collaboration with institutions and civil society organisations.
During the year, the group’s companies hosted four refugees, offering them the opportunity to undertake vocational training and supporting the daily challenges of adapting to a new country and a new way of life.
“For the second time, SCAI Group receives the prestigious UNHCR award for welcoming four refugee persons on a career path in 2023. I consider it an honour to contribute to a new form of sociality in which companies take concrete initiatives to implement inclusive behaviour, supporting people with difficulty in achieving their life and work goals. The project has allowed us to meet young colleagues who have been able to enhance their skills, working alongside more experienced figures daily. On our side, we tried to support them in facing professional challenges, acclimatising to a new country and fulfilling the necessary bureaucratic tasks. With satisfaction, two of them are already permanently employed in companies of the Group and now live permanently in Italy,”
